The empire started in 27 BC, when Octavian became Emperor Augustus. Its capital was Rome, and its empire was based in the Mediterranean area. Critics praised the game's historic accuracy and attention to detail, but criticized its complex gameplay and lack of tutorials.The Roman Empire was the largest empire of the ancient world. The game is a city-building simulation in which the player takes on the role of a Roman governor, with the ultimate goal of becoming Emperor.
